PANAMA CITY BEACH — With much of the Beach's workforce living in other parts of the county, Lamar Hobbs believes public transportation plays a big role in the city's economy. During a City Council meeting Thursday, Hobbs, who works as transportation program administrator for Bay County, updated officials on Bayway, a public transportation system used throughout the region, and its impact on Panama City Beach. 'I think we're vital to a lot of the economy out there, just because we give these people a way to get to the beach and to their jobs so they can live in their own cities.
